There is more than one way to solve a training problem, and the cheapest right answer is not always the obvious one. From fully custom courses to rapid production, conversion, localisation and ready-made libraries, this page helps you find the approach that fits your goal, timeline and budget.
eLearning solutions are the methods, content formats and technology an organization uses to deliver training digitally instead of in a classroom. In practice the term covers three different things, and confusing them is the most common reason projects go wrong:
The courses themselves, custom-built, rapidly produced, converted from existing material, or licensed off the shelf.
How that content reaches people, microlearning, mobile, video, simulations, gamified or blended with live sessions.
The system that delivers and tracks it, typically a learning management system.
Most organizations need a combination. A compliance rollout might pair converted legacy content with mobile delivery and LMS tracking; a sales launch might need custom scenarios plus microlearning reinforcement.
The four content approaches compared on the things that actually decide the choice, cost, speed and what each is genuinely best at.
| Approach | Best for | Typical timeline | Relative cost | You need |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Custom development | Company-specific processes, scenario practice, flagship programs | 4–8 weeks per course | Highest | Subject-matter experts and review time |
| Rapid eLearning | High-volume topics, tight deadlines, content that changes often | 1–3 weeks per course | Medium | Existing decks or documents |
| Conversion | Training that already works but is stuck in an old format | 1–2 weeks per course | Low–Medium | Legacy files, decks, ILT material or SWFs |
| Off-the-shelf library | Universal topics, safety, compliance, soft skills | Days | Lowest | Nothing, deploy and go |
Most organizations blend these: off-the-shelf for universal topics, custom for what makes them different.

Swift Elearning is perhaps the best e-Learning partner I have ever worked with. They not only offer very fair development pricing, but they were able to take an otherwise complex project and make it easy for my entire training team. They communicated consistently, made changes when needed, and provided an overall 5-star customer experience. I highly recommend Swift to companies like mine looking to create learning that produces results.
I came in on this project once the contract had been awarded to Swift. They welcomed me and explained everything thoroughly. I found working with Mike and Amjad to be a breeze: they did what they said they were going to do, on time and within budget. When I said we need to run, they rushed. They made sound recommendations and the end products are fantastic and engaging.
We have been using Swift eLearning for our digital education modules. We've found Amjad and the team professional and easy to work with. Communication has always been great, and emails are usually replied to within hours. The team is eager to help answer any questions and go out of their way to provide excellent service. We will continue to use Swift eLearning and would highly recommend them to other brands.
Swift were engaged to develop a new foot-and-mouth-disease (FMD) online course for veterinarians and veterinary paraprofessionals. The development of the course, made up of eleven modules, was well managed by Swift, who provided and worked to a detailed project plan. Regular communication was maintained throughout, and the finished product was delivered on time and within budget. We are very pleased with the final product and have released it state-wide to the veterinary community to further their understanding of FMD prevention and response measures.
We engaged Swift initially after running into some technical difficulties with an existing SCORM package and how it had been implemented into the LMS. Swift were able to come in, have those technical conversations with the LMS provider, and solve the problem, which made us and our client very happy. All projects since this initial engagement have run smoothly and been uncomplicated; we'd recommend working with Swift.
eLearning solutions are the methods, content formats and technology an organization uses to deliver training digitally rather than in a classroom. They fall into three layers: content solutions (custom, rapid, converted or off-the-shelf courses), format solutions (mobile, microlearning, video, gamified, blended) and platform solutions (a learning management system to deliver and track it). Most organizations use a combination.
The main types are custom eLearning development, rapid eLearning, content conversion (PowerPoint, ILT, Flash and legacy formats), off-the-shelf course libraries, and delivery formats including microlearning, mobile learning, video-based learning, simulations, gamification and blended programs, plus translation and accessibility work that makes any of them usable by everyone.
It depends on three things: how specific the content is to your business, how fast you need it, and what source material you already have. Company-specific processes justify custom development; universal topics like fire safety are cheaper off the shelf; existing decks and classroom material are best converted. The comparison table above sets out cost and timeline for each, or ask us and we'll tell you honestly, including when the cheaper option is the right one.
Cost is driven by approach and interactivity, not page count. Off-the-shelf courses are the lowest cost per learner, conversions are modest, rapid eLearning sits in the middle, and fully custom scenario-based courses are the largest investment. We quote per project with an itemized breakdown, and provide a sample course so you can judge quality before committing.
Yes. Everything we build is published as SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI or cmi5 and tested on your actual LMS before delivery. If you don't have an LMS, we provide our own platform, so the content and the system come from one accountable partner.
Yes, large programs are where a structured approach pays off most. We run modules in parallel streams with a shared brand template, so a 40-module curriculum doesn't take 40 times as long as one course. Our largest engagements span multiple languages and industries simultaneously.
Yes. Send a slice of your training material, a deck, a document or just a topic, and we'll convert it into a short, SCORM-compliant sample course, so you can evaluate our quality on your own content before any commitment.
