Asbestos controls training educates individuals on the hazards, safety practices, and control methods required to prevent dangerous fiber exposure in the workplace. Developed in strict accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards, this fully narrated, self-paced online course equips safety committee members, managers, and maintenance personnel with the knowledge to identify friable asbestos, implement abatement controls (elimination, encapsulation, negative air filtration), and execute management and committee duties; complete with auto-bookmarking progress and 100% mobile compatibility.
This online course is essential for individuals working in construction, maintenance, and facility management where asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) may be present, including:
By completing this interactive eLearning module, learners will understand:
Defining asbestos, friable asbestos, and microscopic dust hazards.
Distinguishing between elimination, sealant encapsulation, and negative air filtration systems.
Utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) and implementing exposure prevention protocols.
Conducting workplace inspections, leading exposure investigations, and managing employee safety training.
Carrying out required monthly inspections, reporting accidental disturbance, and maintaining warning signage.
8 modules plus a final knowledge test, expand any topic for a preview.
Core concepts defining asbestos mineral fibers, friable vs. non-friable states, and airborne dust behavior.
Overview of the three primary control methodologies: Elimination, Encapsulation, and Negative Air Filtration.
Strategies and procedures for safely reducing or completely removing asbestos from the workplace environment.

Swift Elearning is perhaps the best e-Learning partner I have ever worked with. They not only offer very fair development pricing, but they were able to take an otherwise complex project and make it easy for my entire training team. They communicated consistently, made changes when needed, and provided an overall 5-star customer experience. I highly recommend Swift to companies like mine looking to create learning that produces results.
I came in on this project once the contract had been awarded to Swift. They welcomed me and explained everything thoroughly. I found working with Mike and Amjad to be a breeze: they did what they said they were going to do, on time and within budget. When I said we need to run, they rushed. They made sound recommendations and the end products are fantastic and engaging.
We have been using Swift eLearning for our digital education modules. We've found Amjad and the team professional and easy to work with. Communication has always been great, and emails are usually replied to within hours. The team is eager to help answer any questions and go out of their way to provide excellent service. We will continue to use Swift eLearning and would highly recommend them to other brands.
Swift were engaged to develop a new foot-and-mouth-disease (FMD) online course for veterinarians and veterinary paraprofessionals. The development of the course, made up of eleven modules, was well managed by Swift, who provided and worked to a detailed project plan. Regular communication was maintained throughout, and the finished product was delivered on time and within budget. We are very pleased with the final product and have released it state-wide to the veterinary community to further their understanding of FMD prevention and response measures.
We engaged Swift initially after running into some technical difficulties with an existing SCORM package and how it had been implemented into the LMS. Swift were able to come in, have those technical conversations with the LMS provider, and solve the problem, which made us and our client very happy. All projects since this initial engagement have run smoothly and been uncomplicated; we'd recommend working with Swift.

Friable asbestos refers to material that can be easily crumbled, pulverized, or reduced to powder by hand pressure when dry, releasing dangerous airborne fibers. Non-friable asbestos is bound within a solid matrix (such as vinyl floor tiles) and poses minimal risk unless sanded, cut, or disturbed.
Negative air units continuously draw air out of the sealed containment area through HEPA filters, creating lower air pressure inside the enclosure than outside. This ensures that any air leaks flow inward into the work space rather than blowing hazardous asbestos dust into clean surrounding areas.
If asbestos is disturbed, immediately evacuate and isolate the area, seal off doors and ventilation, post warning signs, notify management and safety committee representatives, and engage accredited asbestos abatement professionals to evaluate and clean up the area.
While specialized PPE significantly reduces exposure risks, it does not eliminate hazard risk on its own. PPE must be combined with engineering controls like negative air filtration, wet methods, and proper decontamination protocols.
