Telangana State Police – SHE Teams Leveraging Technology Using Elearning to Spread Awareness
At Swift Elearning Services, we have always believed in the fact that awareness is the key to deal with social issues. We expanded our business horizons and collaborated with Telangana State Police (Women Safety Wing ) to act as an extended arm for their awareness campaigns across Telangana.
Two e-learning courses (Street Sexual Harassment and Cyber Crimes Awareness) have been initiated jointly by Swift elearning Services and Telangana State Police Women Safety Wing with the sole purpose to raise public awareness on women safety among the citizens especially women.
By adopting the online mode of training methodology yet again, another feather has been added to the cap of awareness programs of Telangana State Police.
The target audience of the SHE Teams campaign is mostly the youth who are well equipped with technology and prefer to learn online at their convenient time.
Earlier to the adoption of elearning, SHE Teams had their conventional way of campaigning among educational institutions. This included brochures, pamphlets, PowerPoints and notes. While the impact of the conventional mode was great, we thought, leveraging technology for SHE Teams shall give the extra edge to Telangana State Police Women Safety Wing.
We collected the campaign raw material from the Department officials as part of our requirements gathering. Our Instructional Designers (IDs) created a storyboard for the elearning program and got started with the development of it upon approval.
One major challenge we had was that to present a 360 Degree overview of the crime scenarios and the solutions to them. We achieved this by adopting a holistic view of the concept and ensuring that the learners get a clear picture.
The courses were officially launched by Smt. P. Sabitha Indra Reddy (Hon’ble Minister For Education), Shri. Mohammed Mahmood Ali (Hon’ble Minister for Home, Prisons and Fire Services), Shri Mahender Reddy, DGP, Smt. Swati Lakra (IPS, IG Women Safety) and other dignitaries at an event held at Shilpakala Vedika, Hitech City, Hyderabad on Thursday, 24.10.2019.
By using these training course, the users will be able to
Identify the forms and consequences of Street Sexual Harassment and Cyber Crimes.
Learn about the consequences and impact of such crimes
Outline the ways to approach SHE Team in case of harassment
At the end of this course, there shall be an assessment of random 10 questions and upon successfully answering at least 8 questions, an awareness appreciation certificate endorsed by SHE Teams and Swift Elearning Services shall be generated online and issued to the user.
This elearning course will create awareness among users on the different ways to deal with Cyber Crimes. One does not need to get scared and be brave. This course also talks about securing your social media accounts which will help cyber crimes.
