Case Study: Conversion of Flash Based Complex eLearning Courses to HTML5

Many companies invest their valuable time and efforts in building a conceptual online courses using Adobe Flash. Since Adobe Flash was the major platform in those days to develop the eLearning courses, our client invested a lot and now they are in dilemma as the courses are in their shelves unused. About Client:

A top notch leader and pioneer in Logistics, Express Distribution and Supply Chain industry, with over 10,000+ employees offering express distribution, warehousing, e-commerce and fulfillment services worldwide. It offers product, process and procedure training courses to its employees to enhance the skills and performance levels.

Requisite:

Our client had legacy eLearning courses developed using Adobe Flash and they want the existing courses to be Flash free and enable their learners to access the courses with modern web browsers. Now-a-days many web browsers does not support flash assets to play. The clients management team want to provide employee training using existing courses, as the concept and course content was much opted to learners.

Challenge:

The main challenge was most of the courses were developed with game based activities, which need to be addressed and the courses are expected to be mobile compatible. During the process we found many limitation and we have over-come with alternative options, without changing the actual concept.

Approach:

For complex animations and interactions, we prefer using Articulate Storyline to maximum extent. We have provided all gamified elements in the course like progress of the course, points, performance calculation in Articulate Storyline.
