Organizations have made huge investments in Flash-based legacy courses. Until a few years ago, Flash was a prominent authoring tool; thanks to its ability to create an extensive range of animations and interactivities. However, with the end of Flash by 2020, organizations have realized that it is imperative to convert their Flash-based courses to HTML5. Since the present generation is inclined towards mobile learning and perform most of the activities on their mobile devices, it has become necessary to re-purpose the legacy courses such that they become compatible with mobile devices.
Prior to providing the solution, we thought to share the root cause for the Right-to-Left (RTL) alignment issue in Closed Caption (CC). One of our clients, who is a leading business trading company in Canada wanted to help their global workforce to get awareness of the ethical standards of business. With a wide range of eLearning services, earlier we designed training programs by producing highly engaging custom content development with the company. So, Company is well aware that Articulate Storyline 360 is a rapid eLearning authoring tool for the development of eLearning courses.
The exact requirement of the client was to develop the courses in English and Right-to-Left (RTL) languages like Hebrew, Arabic, Urdu, etc., to cater the needs of the users in the Middle East.

CC button with Right-to-Left (RTL) Language support
The English version was developed without any issues. But the most interesting and challenging task was with the Right-to-Left (RTL) Languages. Since the orientation is from Right-to-Left (RTL), the text in Closed Captions (CC) gets misaligned with the screen resolution after publishing the course. We took up the challenge and landed with a solution that works with (Right-to-Left) RTL alignment of CC text in Articulate Storyline 360.
In this blog, we will show you the steps to work with Right-to-Left (RTL) alignment of CC text.
Here is another challenge that we participated in eLearning heroes (challenge number #231). The challenge was to develop an interaction related to musical instrument training. In this blog we would like to share the activity that we developed which you can preview, download and learn how to develop this interaction.
Development of highly engaging interactive eLearning courses can never be so easy without using pre-developed templates. Elearning templates supercharge the courses thereby to improve the productivity. Elearning templates often stand as a great asset for the visual designers to reuse it by changing the theme and colour that suits to the particular industry and this saves a lot of time for visual designers as well as instructional designers by avoiding the development to be made from scratch. Significantly there will be reduction in the development time and cost too.
Be it a pharmaceutical industry, manufacturing industry or retail industry, custom eLearning interactions are the most desired interactivities while all they consider fulfilling the learners’ needs is playing the vital role in the company’s success.
Articulate Storyline gives a power of custom interactions that let the learners play with the content while gaining the knowledge and extending the remembrance of the concepts as well. Such an interactivity drew the learners attention was “How to tie Kelvin Knot”.
Here we are with another challenge that was posted in eLearning community that really make to think of it. This was the challenge that we already faced with one of our clients who stands as a top class manufacturers in apparel and footwear industry based in Australia. They are in need of eLearning courses to train their quality analyst department thereby to bring awareness on the manufacturing defects who are in different levels.
As eLearning enthusiasts we love the challenges that address the need of the learner. One of the challenges that recently posted in Articulate Storyline – eLearning Heroes is Accordion Interactions. This interaction is available for download at the end of the blog.
Instructor Led Training- this word gives you a picture of Instructor in the classroom with a PowerPoint (PPT) and the learners with their notebooks. This was the leading traditional learning method used for employee training and development. But the trend shows steady decline in instructor led training over the last few years. As new learning technologies emerge, there is an improvement in the efficiency of training and lower the cost of training per employee. Most of the organizations are embracing digital information and delivering online training to make the training more dynamic and adaptable.
